Heya. What’s up?
So we just got back from meeting with his oncologist. He has non-seminoma testicular cancer. It is currently at Stage 2b. It won’t get any further.
He starts 4 rounds of chemotherapy probably this week. We’re going to get a schedule tomorrow. He feels good, looks good, and is strong right now. He can look forward to losing most or all of his hair, feeling nauseous and weak, and can’t go back to work or visit with people for the next 2-3 months. In the grand scheme of life, three months is absolutely nothing. But to him right now, it’s forever. I’m not going to belittle his feelings, but his outlook is VERY very good.
The repeat CT showed that there is lymph node involvement ONLY in the lower abdomen/pelvic region. There is no sign of it in his lungs, liver, spleen, or other lymph nodes. Of course, that doesn’t mean that they are 100% cancer-free, but with the upcoming rounds of chemo – they will be.
That’s about all I have for now – thank you for reading and for your concern about Mr. D. He is deeply appreciative of all good wishes and he’s blessed with the best circle of family and friends a person can get!
Please, take care of yourselves, and your families.
